CLAIMS OF ACTIVITY
Homeowner lives in a farmhouse built in 1900. Upon research of the home, it was discovered that the farmhouse was
once called “The Johnson Family Farm”. Bruce and Patty Johnson lived in the home for 30 years and Bruce later
died in the home. In 1906 William Newton owned the home with his wife and 4 children. Four of his other children had
died in the home. After William passed away, 3 other families have occupied the land. The current homeowner claimed
the following occurrences are happening in her home:
- Family members hearing children giggling and playing ball in her son's closet.
-
Closet doors opening and shutting by themselves. Homeowners claim they can see the door knob move on its’ own, and the
door latching shut. The son is so scared that he has nailed a towel over the closet to prevent it from opening.
- TV’s are turning on and off. Every morning around 7am, the TVs will turn on to a news station. Homeowner just leaves
the TVs on to prevent her from frequently turning them back off.
- Homeowner claims to feel someone leaning on her mattress.
She thought it was her boyfriend leaning on the bed to kiss her goodnight, but he wasn't in the room.
- While cleaning
her bedroom, the homeowner said that the closet door opened by itself, and the electrical cord that was next to the closet
was pulled inside by an unseen force.
- Family hears low male groans. Boyfriend states that he hears someone calling
him from the garage. He thought it was his girlfriend, but she was not home. They also claim that they can hear hammering
and wood being handled in the garage when no one else is out there.
- After taking a steaming shower, the bathroom was
very cold. They took the temperature and it was 58 degrees. A few minutes later, the temperature was back to normal.
-
A couple of the children the homeowner watches claim to be playing with a "Mary Johnson." This occurrence happened
within 7 months of each other, and the children did not know each other, or have previous knowledge of Mary. The children
describe Mary as a little girl with blond hair and a pink dress. Records from 1906 indicate that a child named Mary indeed
lived in the home.
- Boyfriend claims that "something grabbed his leg", causing him to fall down the stairs.
- Footsteps are heard upstairs
- All family members claim to have sharp pain on their lower right hand side. They have
gone to the doctor and had many tests performed, but doctors could find no explanation for the illness.
BASE READINGS
The
average temperature in the home was 70 degrees. The average base EMF reading was 0.5.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCES
- Frequent battery drainage and malfunction of equipment. New batteries were placed in equipment prior to investigation.
- When the closet door was opened in the son's bedroom, 2 investigators witnessed a flashlight moving back and forth
on its own.
- When Investigator asked if "The children can come out and play", she felt coldness on her leg.
EMF spiked to 1.5. Temperature dropped to 66. Everyone in the room (4 investigators) felt cold. A few minutes later the coldness
went away.
- At 10:46pm, 2 investigators were lying on the son's bed and felt it start to shake. No cars were driving
down the street.
- Two investigators claim to have heard what sounded like a woman crying, and one investigation stated
he heard children laughing. Note: The house is located on a very rural street surrounded by cornfields. The nearest house
is quite a distance away.
- One investigator claims to have seen a black shadow move from the base of the stairs into
the wall. A picture was taken, but no shadow noted. The picture, however, turned out darker than the consecutive pictures
that were taken after the incident.
- The temperature dropped significantly in the client's bedroom. Investigator
became very cold and shaky. Her teeth were chattering and she had goose bumps. Minutes later the temperature went back to
normal.
ATTEMPTING TO DEBUNK CLAIMS
-Tested the doors to see if the door latches securely. When the
door is shut, you have to turn the doorknob with substantial force in order to open it. When the door is partly open, it stayed
in place the entire time and did not sway. The doors are fairly heavy and solid.
- While doing an EMF sweep in the son's
closet, EMF would spike to 8.0. We could find no reason for the spike. Investigator looked in the attic, and found an old
electrical box behind the son's closet that caused his EMF to spike to 16.0. This of course could be a reason for the
EMF spike in the in the closet.
- Investigators noticed some mice and animal droppings (possibly raccoon) in the attic
behind the son's closet. The scurrying of these animals may sound like they are coming from the closet, but still doesn't
explain the claim of "children giggling".
EVIDENCE COLLECTED
- No unusual photographs
were taken other than the dim photograph when the investigator claims to have seen a shadow at the stairs.
- No anomalies
on IR video cameras.
- Upon listening to audio recording, it was noted that a few possible EVPS were collected. These
include the faint sound of a child giggling, a male whisper of "No" when asked if it was upset that it was still
here. There were also many "sighs" and unintelligible whispers.
Moon phase was Waning Gibbous and 83% full.
The temperature was 54 degrees.
